Where to stay in Elisabeth Vorstadt

Just north of Neustadt is Elisabeth Vorstadt. This is a very convenient area if you are traveling to Salzburg by train. It’s where you can find Salzburg’s main train station. But Elisabeth Vorstadt is one of Salzburg’s more affordable areas, which is great for travelers on a tight budget.

Maxglan is also a great area to stay in Salzburg. This district has a strategic location between the airport and the Altstadt. Salzburg has some very good aparthotels and the Numa hotels are for sure the best. Numa I Maximilian with a particularly stylish and modern interior is located in Maxglan. Where to stay outside historic Salzburg

#10 Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron

The most special place to stay in Salzburg is the historic Schloss Leopoldskron. The castle is a 20-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride from the Altstadt. Free bicycles are available to allow guests to easily and quickly reach the sights in the historic center.

This beautiful palace is where The Sound of Music was recorded. As Schloss Leopoldskron is privately owned, it is not open to the public for visitors or The Sound of Music fans. Only hotel guests are allowed to view the castle inside and they can admire the palace, chapel and library for free.
