All the sights of Salta are located in the historic city center, so that area should be your starting point when looking for a hostel or hotel in Salta. The Salta Old Town has beautiful accommodations within walking distance of all tourist attractions. But there are also some of the best places to stay in Salta just north of the Old Town. They are definitely worth the small detour.
