Unique places to stay at Caye Caulker

Caye Caulker, located in northern Belize, may be a small island, but it’s packed with cozy restaurants, delightful cocktail bars, and delightful hotels. These accommodations are concentrated in the southern part of the island, which was split in two by a hurricane in the 1960s and is also where the ferry arrives. While Caye Caulker is a Caribbean island, don’t expect luxury resorts, boutique hotels, or lavish beach cabanas here. Caye Caulker embraces a back-to-basics approach, and that’s reflected in the island’s hotels.

With a pickup service from the ferry, an on-site restaurant featuring outdoor tables and hanging chairs, a swimming pool, and spacious rooms, it’s a top choice for a stay on Caye Caulker. #3 El Ben Cabañas for one of the few resorts on Caye Caulker and a rare find on the island’s northern part. Guests here enjoy staying in beautiful beach cabanas set in a tropical ambiance by the water. The resort features an outdoor pool, an on-site restaurant, and a bar. Complimentary kayaks are available for guests to paddle around the island.

#4 Weezie’s Ocean Front Hotel and Garden Cottages for a stunning hotel with its own restaurant and not just one but three outdoor pools. Among all the hotels on Caye Caulker, this one comes closest to a boutique hotel experience. Guests can borrow kayaks and paddleboards for free to explore the waters surrounding the island.
